On their last day in India, the 15 Hong Kong China finalists danced to the tune of AR Rahman’s song Jai Ho in the capital, mesmerising the audience with their moves.
The finalists had practiced for only five days before putting up a show choreographed by Kanika, a Delhi based choreographer, and her crew. “It was all so sudden and fast, just like a toofaan,” said Kanika about the entire experience. The steps were a mixture of simple jazz and classical Indian dance movements, complete with traditional Indian hand mudras and poses, reminding one of the beautifully carved dance figures on the walls of the South Indian temples, but only that these gorgeous ladies were clad in colourful Grecian goddess dresses.
